A fresh sheath gives your valve a soft bite again. The silicone sheath fits over the bite valve of your soft flask or hydration pack and wears down from drinking and chewing. Swapping it takes a few seconds.
You notice it most on long trail runs and ultras, when you drink from the same valve again and again. A worn or dirty sheath is simply less pleasant to drink from.
Not sure this is the right sheath? If you have a Blaster bite valve, you are good. If your tube or flask has a Comet valve, choose the Comet sheaths instead.
Handy to carry as a spare.
