Lots of carbs in one bar. The PF 60 Chew Bar gives you 60 g of carbs, as much as two gels, in a soft chewy bar. Handy when there's little room in your vest and you still want to carry plenty of energy.
Something to chew between gels. The bar is firmer than a gel and you eat it in a few bites. You notice it most after hours on the move, when sweet gels start to put you off and you fancy something more solid.
Eat calmly on the climb. On a long climb or a hiking section you have time to chew. At a high pace chewing is harder; gels or drinks often work better then.
