You notice it most in steady rain and wind. A regular cap gets soaked and cold, this one stays dry on the inside. It's light enough to keep on for the whole run.
Easy to carry. You roll up the cap and put it in your vest or belt when the shower has passed. That also makes it handy for races where you have to carry a rain cap.
