Description

Feels comfortable and protective on long runs. The cushioning helps reduce impact on hard and rocky ground without the shoe feeling unstable or floaty.

Gives plenty of confidence on technical terrain. Grip stays strong on wet rocks, mud and loose trails, while the shoe stays stable enough for steep descents and longer technical sections.

You notice it most in the final hours of an ultra. When your legs get heavier and your stride gets sloppier, the combination of grip, protection and stable cushioning helps you keep running in control.

Looking for a trail shoe for long, rugged adventures? Then this one is a great fit. For short, explosive races or lots of tarmac it's less suitable.

Why Saucony?

Many trail runners started out on the road. And chances are they did so in a pair of Sauconys. That's why we think Saucony is such a strong brand for the move to off-road.

With models like the Ride TR and Guide TR you have an ideal shoe for gravel, forest paths and mixed routes. Want to move on to technical trail work afterwards? Then Saucony also has trail shoes like the Xodus and Peregrine that let you take on mud, hills and singletracks with confidence.

At trrail.com we see Saucony as a brand you can grow with: from your first unpaved kilometres to serious trail adventures. That makes it a logical choice for runners who increasingly want to leave the asphalt.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Xodus Ultra 4 fit true to size?

Yes, it fits true to size: go for your usual running shoe size. The forefoot does taper slightly, so if you have wide feet, try it on first.

Does the Xodus Ultra 4 have a rock plate?

No. Protection from rocks comes from the thick midsole (36 mm under the heel) and the full-coverage Vibram Megagrip outsole.

What's the difference with the Xodus Ultra 3?

The Ultra 4 has a new, more durable mesh upper, a full Vibram Megagrip outsole and no rock plate.

Can I use a gaiter with it?

Yes. The shoe has D-rings to attach a trail gaiter. The gaiter itself is not included.

Fantastische schoenen
