Who or what is Bandit

Bandit started in 2020 in Tim West's apartment in Brooklyn, in the middle of the lockdown. The first product was a few muted Running socks, which Tim packed and shipped himself, with a handwritten thank-you card included. He wore them at his run club, Brooklyn Track Club, gave a few pairs to friends for feedback, and kept improving them until every drop sold out.

In 2021, Tim brought his brother Nick on board as CEO, followed shortly thereafter by Ardith Singh as Chief Design Officer.

Must-Have Products

The name is a tribute to Bobbi Gibb, who slipped into the Boston Marathon in 1966 without a race number, becoming the first woman to finish it. In running terminology, a bandit Exactly that: someone walking along without registering.

For Tim, Gibb is the original bandit.

From socks grew Bandit developed into a complete clothing line, made with and for the New York running scene. In the first few years, the brand skipped paid advertisements. It grew by organizing runs, supporting athletes, and simply being present in the community.

Bandit grew by walking with people, without buying its way in with advertising.

Why we for Bandit chose

Dutch trails are fast. Most of what we walk here consists of forest loops, heathland, and dunes. Walkable terrain, often at a brisk pace. Bandit is made for exactly that effort: clothing that dissipates heat, doesn't chafe, and doesn't flap when you push through. For mountains and long days, we already had enough. Bandit fills the gap for race days, intervals, and fast laps through the woods.

Recommended Products

Made by runners, tested in a running club. Each product of Bandit starts with feedback from people who actually walk in it. That is how we work at trrail.com Also: we test as much as possible ourselves and only sell what we would wear ourselves.

Subjects where you need them. The shorts, tights, crop tops, and sports bras have room for your phone and gels. On a 15 km trail, that is one less reason to bring a jacket.
