2-in-1 gloves: one pair for every kind of weather

On the trail, the weather changes faster than your pace. A 2-in-1 glove combines a thin, breathable glove with a windproof or waterproof mitt that you fold over as soon as you need it. So you keep feeling in your fingers when you can, and warm hands when you must.

When do you choose a 2-in-1?

• Changeable weather: start in shelter, finish on a windy ridge.
• Long runs and ultras: one pair instead of gloves plus separate overmitts.
• Need grip: with the mitt open you can use your watch, grab a gel or grip your poles.

How does the overmitt work?

The mitt is attached to the glove, usually in a small pocket on the back of the hand or at the wrist. Fold it out, pull it over your fingers, done. So you won't lose it on the way. Your fingers then sit together in the mitt, which is noticeably warmer.

Already have a favourite glove? Then a separate waterproof overmitt is a light addition. Want one solution without combining? Then a 2-in-1 is handier and faster.
